Riverstone Audio R&R 380 Record Weights
Precision-crafted record weights are one of Riverstone Audio’s professional grade audio products to enhance your music listening experience. The Jazz 380 record weight has a low center of gravity and is precision machined from a solid billet of aerospace grade 7Riverstone Audio Products are designed to enhance your music listening experience. The Rock 'n' Roll 380 is compatible with most turntables with non-threaded spindles. With a 380 g mass, this medium-weight record weight is a good choice for turntables that may have lower torque or older motors (high mass record weights are best suited for turntables that have high starting torque motors and robust motor/spindle bearings). The R&R 380 record weight also looks great on a turntable. The unique surface finish and rich, vibrant color of the R&R 380 is obtained by a multi-step hand polishing and glass-beading procedure, followed by an anodizing treatment. After anodizing and inspection, the surface is manually buffed and waxed to obtain the desired finish. The result is a visually pleasing satin finish. The attention to detail does not stop there - to protect your LP record labels and provide additional damping, a 1 mm thick EVA pad is affixed to the base of the record weight. A foam-lined wooden box (pine) is also included to protect your record weight when not in use. Specifications: Mass 380 g, 34.5 mm height, maximum diameter (at base) 80.0 mm, spindle hole size 7.25 mm diameter x 20 mm deep. 6 Colors: Viper Red, Deep Ocean, Aztec Gold, Moody Blue, Midnight Black, Burnt Orange. Laser Engraving Designs: R&R Guitar, Yin-Yang Dragon, Vinyl Soul, Vinyl Angel.
Riverstone Audio JAZZ 380 Record Weights
Precision-crafted record weights are one of Riverstone Audio’s professional grade audio products to enhance your music listening experience. The Jazz 380 record weight has a low center of gravity and is precision machined from a solid billet of aerospace grade 7075-T6 aluminum (7075-T6 has a surface hardness approx. 58% higher than commonly used 6061-T6 and other lower-grade aluminum alloys). The JAZZ 380 record weight turns true and performs as it should – improving sound quality by keeping an LP in firm contact with the turntable platter to reduce extraneous vibrations that can be picked up by a turntable stylus. The JAZZ 380 is compatible with most turntables with non-threaded spindles. With a 380 g mass, this medium-weight record weight is a good choice for turntables that may have lower torque or older motors (high mass record weights are best suited for turntables that have high starting torque motors and robust motor/spindle bearings).
Using a Vacuum Tube Pin Straightener to Prolong Socket Life & Reduce Tube Damage
Riverstone Audio's vacuum tube pin straightener for 7-pin and 9-pin miniature vacuum tubes. Inserting tubes with bent or misaligned pins can deform the metal contacts in a tube socket, resulting in poor electrical contact with the pins. Bent/misaligned pins will also result in high stresses along the glass-metal interface of tube pins when inserting a tube into a socket, which can lead to tube damage and reduced tube life. Our pin straightener is machined from a hardened stainless steel, which minimizes contamination of tube pins. If a pin straightener is made from a softer material, such as an aluminum alloy, a transfer of the softer material to the tube pins can occur. In the case of aluminum, which is a relatively reactive metal, an undesirable Al2O3 layer can form on the surface of the pins. Pin straighteners manufactured from soft materials are also prone to wear, with a lower life.

5654W / 6AK5/ 6J1 Vacuum Tubes: Testing and Matching with a Hickok 539B Tube Tester
This video shows the testing of vintage GE JAN 5654W vacuum tubes using a Hickok 539B tube tester, and highlights the test parameters used for quality checks and tube matching on Hickok 539B/C series tube testers. The 5654W vacuum tube was originally designed as a premium quality substitute/replacement for 6AK5 and EF95 tubes. These ruggedized electron tubes were used decades ago in FAA and military communications applications. The 5654W tube has more recently found new life as a replacement/upgrade for 6AK5 and EF95 tubes used in headphones and other audio amplifiers, and as an upgrade for audio devices utilizing 6J1 vacuum tubes. The GE 5654W tubes in this video were obtained from factory-sealed boxes that had been in long-term storage. With the increasing popularity of tube-based headphones and other tube-based audio amplifiers in the US and Asia, sealed boxes of unused, mint-condition, vacuum tubes are becoming increasingly difficult to find. This video is an effort to further the documentation of various vintage tubes, and the test procedures used with vintage electron tubes.
Testing 6J1 / 6AK5 / EF95 tubes with a Hickock 539B Tube Tester
This video shows testing of 6J1 and 6AK5 vacuum tubes on a vintage Hickok 539B tube tester. A typical quality test of vacuum tubes includes shorts/leakage, gas, and mutual conductance testing. The Hickok models 539B and 539C testers are considered among the best of the vintage Hickok tube testers that were produced.
Testing 6J1 / 6AK5 / EF95 tubes with a Chinese GS-5A Tube Tester
This video shows the testing of 6J1 and 6AK5 vacuum tubes on a vintage Chinese GS-5A tube tester.
Testing WY2P / 0A3 regulator tubes with a GS-5A Tube Tester
This video shows how WY-2P regulator tubes are tested on a Chinese manufactured GS-5A tube tester. For those of you who are familiar with Hickok tube testers, only a few Hickok models, such as the 750 and 752, are capable of testing regulator tubes. However, the GS-5A has a very convenient feature to test many types of regulator tubes.
